Heading up the valley, about one kilometre after the hairpin bends that separate Gressoney Saint Jean and Gressoney la Trinité, take the fork for the hamlet of Castel (not signposted, but it is the only road branching off to the left after the marble quarries).

You will find boulders on both the right and left sides of the road.
