SUMMER HIKES ON THE GLACIER
Here is a list of clothing and equipment in general that it is good to have to face one or more days at high altitude.
The material marked with a * only concerns trips that include an overnight stay in a refuge.
- Backpack 30lt
 - Harness
 - Ice ax
 - Crampons with anti-slog
 - High mountain boots with rigid sole
 - Headlamp
 - Sticks for walking
 - Sheet bag (no sleeping bag, in the refuges there are blankets)
 - High mountain/glacier sunglasses
 - Sunscreen and lip balm
 - Cap
 - Heavy and warm gloves (also for skis)
 - Spare light gloves
 - Breathable T-shirt
 - Windstopper or fleece sweater
 - Waterproof and windproof jacket (e.g. in Goretex)
 - Down filled comforter
 - Mountain trousers, if light, provide tights to wear underneath
 - Mountain socks
 - Leggings
 - A spare T-shirt
 - A spare pair of hiking socks
 - Small personal pharmacy (we recommend a headache pain reliever such as aspirin + compeed or foot blister patches)
 - Camera
 - 1 liter water bottle or thermos
 - Something to nibble on the way up (bars, dried fruit, chocolate, biscuits)
 - Personal hygiene kit (toothbrush, toothpaste, small towel)*
 
Clothing advice: dress in layers, wearing a breathable garment directly against the skin that eliminates perspiration, followed by a warm layer such as a fleece or other shirt and finally a windbreaker or shell to protect against wind/rain depending on the weather conditions.
