Monte Rosa has 21 peaks over 4000 meters which can mostly be reached by following short and not technically complex itineraries. They are suitable for those who already have some mountaineering experience and are physically fit.
We have chosen 3 ascents that are particularly dear to us. These 3 hikes are all a similar level and represent the spirit of Monte Rosa. They are absolutely must-climbs on the list of those who have made mountaineering their passion.
Corno Nero 4321 m: this itinerary follows along the Lys glacier which flows into the steep snowy/icy slope (50°) of about 50 meters in elevation leading you to the ridge preceding the summit.
Ludwigshöhe 4342 m: this itinerary reaches the pass Colle del Lys first. From here, a snowy ridge which is not steep, leads you to the summit.
Zumstein Peak 4563 m: we will follow the road that leads to Capanna Margherita up to Colle Gnifetti where we will climb the short but exposed snowy ridge and the rocks that lead to the summit. The panorama of the immense east face of Monte Rosa is spectacular.
