Overview
Have you already tried ski touring? Are you in good shape and want to push yourself further?
Choose to ascend the Castore with free heels. The view from up there is wonderful, with the 4,000-metre peaks of the Alps all around you in a dreamlike concert of summits. You will head back down wishing you could climb them all. The slopes you will ski are perfect and well-suited for competent skiers.
Programme
With the first lift of the Monterosa Ski system, we ascend to the Colle della Bettaforca. From here, we begin our climb to the Quintino Sella refuge (3585 m), which we reach in about 3 hours. A stretch of secured ridge must be tackled with skis on our backs. After a short break, we continue towards Colle Felik (4100 m), reaching it in about an hour and a half. If conditions allow, we can ascend with skis and skins up to Punta Fillak. There we leave our skis, put on our crampons and, in about 20 minutes, climb the ridge to the summit of Castor (4226 m). Then comes the best part: we set off for an unforgettable descent!
